Mamy Wata Shrine

The above image is an example of a shrine to Mamy Wata. It is
not the installation that will be on view in the University Art
Museum, but is typical of alters created for Mamy Wata. This shrine
was created in the 1980's by the Igbo of Southeastern Nigeria,
and photographed by Henry J. Drewal.
